Junkyard
Industrial waste zone where Wanderers make their own rules — toxic, off-grid, and surveillanceless.
Junkyard is the city's end-of-line district: processing plants, scrap yards, illegal dumping grounds, and the structures built from what nobody claimed. Toxicity levels vary by block. Surveillance is functionally zero. It's extremely dangerous and extremely useful. Wanderers move through here. Street crews run chop-shops. Anyone who needs to disappear for a while knows at least one entrance.
Architecture
Processing plant shells and salvage-yard superstructure; unprocessed and processed metal waste forming an irregular built landscape. Self-built shelters in Carton Town assembled from reclaimed material — corrugated sheet, salvage timber, cable-tied framing. Sectors A, B, and D each carry different site profiles and different risk levels. No original construction survives intact. Maximum improvised overlay on minimal surviving infrastructure.
In the City
Extreme danger, extreme operational utility. Street Gangs run chop-shops and enforce sector claims. Wanderers route through for transit outside the surveillance grid. The Shadow Bazaar annex operates without documentation requirements — implants, information, deals without questions. Small gang cells contest specific scrap sectors; informal traders run mobile operations between collection points. Humanitarian encounter threads in Carton Town.
