Steak entered through the political track, which implied institutional backing and patience. He built clan infrastructure in parallel, which implied something else. Both are real. Both have been running simultaneously for long enough that separating them may no longer be meaningful.

The Political Arc

Steak's stated position is reformist: the corporate structure is unstable, the current distribution of power produces the city's worst outcomes, and a transition to elected clan governance would be more resilient. He has made this argument convincingly to people who distrust each other. That is the hard part of the argument, and he does it well.

His critics say the argument is a frame for his own consolidation. His supporters say the consolidation is necessary for the argument to work. Both are watching the same behavior and drawing different conclusions from the same evidence.

The Shift

Mid-game: Steak achieves the position he has been building toward. The corporate structure begins to change — not by being destroyed but by being renegotiated. What he does next is what the city is actually watching for.

The player's clan becomes central to this moment. The Resistance's opposition role, previously legible and oppositional, transfers into a space the player's choices now define. Steak does not take that role away — he makes it irrelevant by moving the terrain.

The Stack Memorial district carries a name. The name is not coincidental. Whether it is tribute, appropriation, or irony is a question the player can investigate but not definitively answer from available sources.

The Cyberspace Thread

A separate Steak-adjacent intelligence thread concerns entities in deep cyberspace that some sources describe as awakened presences and others describe as emergent system artifacts. Steak is aware of this thread. His awareness predates the player's involvement. What he intends to do with that knowledge is not in any file this compilation has access to.
