Abandoned Factories

Massive concrete structures and broken crane rails — White Bats' primary operations base. Unmapped interior, unpredictable exits.

Abandoned Factories is what the city's industrial ambition left behind: massive concrete structures, broken crane rails, and production floors that haven't run in a decade. Official maps mark the area as decommissioned. Actual activity tells a different story. Dark Priest presence is confirmed but localized. Other factions use the outer zones for storage, staging, and meetings that can't happen elsewhere. The interior is unmapped and the structural integrity is not guaranteed.

Architecture

Structural brick with exposed reinforcement; rust-striped corrugated cladding; large-span industrial bays with dead overhead crane rails. Fractured floor sections with unpredictable load ratings. Improvised barricades at zone boundaries — welded scrap, stacked concrete block, razor wire. Vegetation reclaiming perimeter walls. Ground fog and steam from residual subsurface drainage. No external lighting.

In the City

Active combat zone — red-flag clearance applies. Dark Priests occupy interior structures. Bandit crews claim specific buildings; smugglers use the outer network for staging and storage. Wanderers use the factory layout as an unmapped transit maze that surveillance systems have written off. Key sites: Nameless Tower (factory stack converted to self-built vertical settlement — rope elevators, welded platform floors, observation posts at the crown), Rat Nook (basement tunnels, standing water, wire-trap lines at ankle height), Broken Depot (looted rail depot with abandoned rolling stock, scavenger camps at loading bays).
