🔧 Engineering Mindset Update is live
Hello, engineers.
0.0.7 is our biggest demo update so far. We analyzed feedback from playtests, streams, and internal walkthroughs, and focused on what matters most for the first impression: rewritten narrative, clearer combat, richer sound, modern UI, and a more stable experience overall.
This is not the final shape of Humanity Echo – but 0.0.7 is much closer to how the game should feel.

⚔️ Combat & Tactics
-
Neural Flow system – perform bold tactical moves and earn Action Badges (Kill Confirmed, Momentum, Blindside, Boom, Godlike, Close Quarters). Each badge grants an instant buff and rewards aggressive action chains.
-
Added battle tutorials for skip turn (Space), reload (R), healing, and squad switching (Tab) — based directly on playtest feedback.
-
Improved reinforcement cinematics – troops deploy from the Avi shuttle with turbine audio, unfolding animations, and target-facing behavior.
-
Character movement is now one smooth path instead of tile-by-tile stepping. Camera follows the full trajectory.
-
Added AI turn speed toggle. Improved battle camera with better framing and screen shake on crits and explosions (can be disabled in settings).
-
Fixed mission objective counting – significantly fewer cases where battles could get stuck at the end.
-
Melee characters now properly close distance before striking. Grenade targeting is much more reliable and no longer lands at your feet.
-
Added ammo-specific shell casings on higher graphics settings. Battle hotkeys 1–5 open quick slots with clear feedback.
📜 Story & Dialogue
-
Major dialogue rewrite – early tutorial and main quest dialogues reworked for sharper character voices, more tension, a darker tone, and choices that feel meaningful.
-
Reworked early quest flow – progression feels more natural, quest completions no longer trigger too early.
-
Improved dialogue choice descriptions, reward outcomes, and character-driven moments across several early scenes.
-
Chance-based options now properly show Success / Failed and branch correctly. Fixed multiple quest edge cases.
-
Updated text to better match character personality and scene context.
🔊 Audio & Atmosphere
-
Added ambient soundscapes to all hub locations, interiors, battle maps, story slides, and transition scenes. Districts, shops, clinics, pubs, metro, and rooftops now have their own sound identity.
-
Improved combat audio – kill confirm cue, cleaner weapon and ricochet sounds, empty-trigger click when firing without ammo.
-
Rebalanced overall audio mix – fewer sudden volume jumps. Battle music now starts during map-to-combat transition.
-
Added dynamic sea background with waves and seagull ambience to the character creation screen.
-
Improved audio cleanup after battles, dialogues, and scene transitions.
🎯 UI, Controls & Quality of Life
-
Polished interface animations – dialogue menus, quest popups, mission results, and level-up screens use cleaner motion and timing.
-
Added glass shaders and micro-animations for a more modern feel. Reworked map and mission preview cards with masked images and live zoom.
-
Added interactive task counters and explorable elements in hub locations (barges and other world details).
-
Tab recenters camera on the active operative. Added skip intro comics for repeat runs.
-
Added resolution selector, Windowed / Borderless Fullscreen, background run behavior, and Alt+Enter toggle.
-
Improved text scrolling, tooltips, and several popup, contact, loadout, and tablet UI flows.
🏆 Steam & Stability
-
Full Steam Achievements support with graceful fallback when Steam is not running.
-
Improved startup, shutdown, and post-battle cleanup stability.
-
Fixed quest, contacts, loadout, reward, and interaction issues. Reduced stuck UI and audio states after transitions.
-
Improved dialogue and UI text quality – cleaner wording, better RPG terminology, fixed lines that did not apply correctly.
đź”® What's Next
Update 0.0.8 will go deeper into tactical combat: a stronger cover system, destructible objects, environmental traps, enemy vulnerabilities – plus the first core loot loop and squad progression.
Thank you to everyone who played, tested, streamed, and sent feedback. We read all of it, and step by step, Humanity Echo is becoming the tactical RPG it's meant to be.
Brother, how do you pull all this off with a skeleton crew? Our pub nights are about to get more frequent - time to prepare for what’s coming. Bigger fights, better gear, higher stakes. I’ll save you a seat. —* Symon*
